Hero skills can work to influence Approval as well. Ensuring that you don't overpopulate your planet also requires shuffling populations around, whether it be between planets or star systems. For instance, Horatio prefer hot planets and do their best work there. Making sure the right populations are on the right planets is important to Approval management, and it nets other bonuses. Certain factions favor certain planets, such as how the Riftborn prefer cold planets that remind them of home. This encourages more careful planning and slower growth - by the time you unlock the technologies that boost Approval and reduce overpopulation disapproval, you'll be deep into the session.Įxpanding too quickly isn't the only way to impact Approval. Approval is impacted by overpopulation and over-expansion, meaning you can't simply blanket your neighboring star systems with population immediately. Having it go lower negatively impacts FIDSI production, while having it go higher grants bonuses.
Every game session starts out with Approval at Content, which doesn't affect the FIDSI at all.
